J Hus will replace A$AP Rocky at Wireless Festival

Following news that the American rapper will be held for two weeks in Sweden on assault charges

After the news came out yesterday that A$AP Rocky will miss concerts as he’s detained in Sweden for “at least two weeks”, J Hus has been announced as his replacement (kind of) at tonight’s Wireless Festival. More specifically, Rae Sremmurd have been bumped up the bill to the headline slot, with J Hus going on at 7.15pm.

“We now know for sure that A$AP Rocky won’t be able to make his set tomorrow,” reads a tweet from the organisers. “We’ve been busy making calls…. and now we’re hyped to say London’s J Hus is joining the line-up and Rae Sremmurd will close the show.”

A$AP Rocky will miss out on the headling Sunday night slot due to being held on assault charges, after a video surfaced showing him and his team punching and kicking a man on the street. He offered his own side of the story on Instagram, with video of his team being followed by two men and telling them they don’t want to fight – prompting a #FreeRocky campaign – but will remain in custody while the investigation goes on.

Last year, J Hus was similarly replaced after being arrested in London for carrying a knife. He’s since ended a related eight month jail sentence early, appearing onstage with Drake the same day as his release.
