Horoscopes February 2023: It’s time to focus on love and friendship

Forward-thinking and eager to take action, Aquarius season emphasises our relationship to friends and lovers as we seek to connect with others

The stops and starts of January brought about by retrogrades are course-corrected this February, as the pace picks up in Aquarius season. We start off the month feeling rebellious, future-oriented and eager to express our unique outlook. The sign of the water-bearer encourages us to embrace our eccentricity and focus on the future ahead. A forward-thinking sign, Aquarius is the inventive activist, a trailblazer eager to create a mission for the planet at large. With all planets stationed direct until April 2023, we are forward-thinking, eager to take action. We discern direction for future hopes and wishes, utilising our networks and social spheres. Mercury and Mars are moving us ahead and asking us to set our sights on high places – and no dream is too avant-garde for the sign of the Water-Bearer. We are focused on finding our place in community and expressing what makes us different, as we leave behind the cynical, work-oriented attitude of Capricorn. February emphasises our relationship to friends, as we examine our social spheres and networks, eager to find our tribe.

While we are embracing our own eccentricities and letting our freak flags fly, a Full Moon in Leo on the 5th adds some fireworks to the mix. This can heighten the temperaments of others, as we are expressive and attention-seeking. We want to be seen, but not judged, and this Full Moon encourages us to release anything hindering our sense of self-love. We are looking to connect with others, both virtually and physically, without losing our sense of self. A square between this lunation and Uranus in Taurus could lead to some fallouts or unexpected surprises.

Pluto, planet of collective transformation, enters the final graduation degree in the sign of Capricorn this month, signifying an exposure of politicians and public figures. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, showing us the hidden side of leadership, dismantling power structures and showing us where the people we pedestalize are not always integral. The faults and discrepancies of government may be easier to spot as we prepare to move into a new cycle in March.

On the 18th of the month, the Sun moves into watery Pisces, amplifying our imaginations and encouraging us to utilise our intuitions. The last sign of the zodiac attunes us to our inner worlds, and we can feel just about everything. Our appetite for fantasy and delusion is heightened, as we reach the end of the astrological year, eager for emotional reprieve. A New Moon on Pisces on the 20th encourages us to lean into our more spiritual nature, and seek connection with the great beyond. We are at our most empathic during Pisces season, and everything can feel dream-like, as we wade through moody immersive atmospheres. Venus enters Aries on the 20th, encouraging us to pair our fantasies with bold romantic moves, inciting us to initiate contact with that special someone and take risks. We end the month with a sense of anticipation, as March promises to be one of the biggest turning points of the astrological year. In the meantime, we are happy to float about in the dreamy, atmospheric soup that Pisces brings.
