The multi-disciplinary artist fighting to make the creative industries more diverse and inclusive.
Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah

Community and care are at the heart of everything multi-disciplinary artist Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah does. Through their styling and creative direction, the London-based Ghanaian celebrates the sheer joy and freedom of existing outside the gender binary while championing emerging queer talent.

Aged just 23, Darkwah became Fashion Editor at GAY TIMES Magazine, promoting diversity and representation through each unique fashion story and cover shoot they worked on.

Since then, their career has gone from strength to strength. Now aged 28, Darkwah collaborates with brands such as Uggs, Coty, Mercedes, Meta, Samsung, Weekday, Sleek Make-up and Boots. Darkwah helps these brands authentically connect to historically marginalised communities, advising them to spread messages of social justice, education and positive change. It can feel like the creative industry is not doing enough about diversity and inclusion. Just know that people like Darkwah are fighting the good fight to change the creative world for the better.
