A$AP Rocky has been told he will not be able to perform for inmates at the prison he was held at in Sweden earlier this year.
Vilhelm Grevik, from Sweden’s national Prison and Probation Service, told the Swedish daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet that Rocky cannot return to Kronoberg prison for security and logistical reasons.
TMZ writes that Rocky requested he perform with a DJ and 11 accompanying performers and tech crew members, as well as four or five camera technicians to document it. The Prison and Probation Service cited this high occupancy as their reason for saying no, as well as the lateness of the request, according to TMZ.
Rocky was held in Kronoberg until he was convicted of assault in August. He and his two bodyguards were given conditional sentences, meaning they will not serve prison time unless they commit a similar offence in the future.
Eventually, Rocky was released, with US president Donald Trump offering vocal support for the rapper. Following his release, he dropped a new video for “Babushka Boi” – watch that below.
Rocky is set to play Stockholm’s Ericsson Globe arena on December 11.
